Provenance

PROVENANCE: Asar Art Gallery, Tehran. Acquired from the above by the present owner in 2001. Lots 80 and 81 were originally part of a set of 30 drawings that had been commissioned to Pilaram by both Empress Farah Pahlavi and Firouz Shirvanloo, who was at the time in charge of Farhangsaraye Niavaran, Tehran’s cultural centre, around 1978. However, Pilaram never delivered the commission because of the outbreak of the revolution the following year and the works from the series were scattered across Tehran, France and America.
