CATALOGUE NOTE

Kim Whanki was born in Chonnam Shinan. He is considered one of the pioneers among Korean abstract artists. He studied European modernism in Japan and spent time in Paris and in New York. His works are fused in Asian sensibility and western modernism. He exhibited widely and internationally. He is also known under the name Soowhan Kim.
