Notes

Formerly attributed to Alexander Keirincx (1600-1652). The attribution to Leytens is based on a comparison with the signed landscape formerly with Malmedé, Cologne, in 1936 (for which see P. Reelick, "Bijdrage tot Identificatie van der Meester der Winterlandschappen (G. Leytens?)", in Oud Holland , vol. LIX, 1942, p. 79, no. 16). Another landscape by the same hand was sold in Amsterdam, Christie's, 11 May 1994, lot 39 (as Attributed to Leytens). The figures are the work of a different hand, from the workshop or following of Frans Francken the Younger.
