painted in shades of blue, green, ochre, yellow and manganese, heightened in white, with a scene depicting the story of Priapus and Lotis, the reverse inscribed in blue 'priapo e lotos / 1549', the rims with yellow borders

Condition Note: some minor retouching to yellow enamel on rim, tiny restored rim chip with small extended haircrack to glaze on exterior of rim, test drill holes to edge of footrim

Sold with thermoluminescence certificate 381s27, dated January 1986, from the Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art, Oxford University, stating that the sample tested was last fired between 400 and 610 years ago (1376-1586).
