This work was identified by Van Ham Fine Art Auctions as one of the paintings that
Herman Goering, the Dutch art dealer, expropriated to Jacques Goudstikker shortly after his escape in May 1940. In September 2013, the painting was returned to Marei von Saher, the sole heir and brought to VAN HAM for auction.
