Item Overview

Description

EVELYN MARY DUNBAR (1906-1960) A sketch of kneeling girls protecting their faces with leaves whilst being blown by the wind, probably for an illustration, signed and dated '50, crayon, 14 1/4" x 18 1/4" Note: Evelyn Mary Dunbar was best known as an illustrator and British war artist. She was the only salaried women painter to be employed by the War Artists Advisory Committee and her work during this period uniquely reflects women's engagement with the war, particularly the Women's Land Army.
