NOTE

Gauss does not account for this albumen print of this image, but lists one salt print. While the location of this rustic cottage with its distinctive trellis of thin branches is not identified, it may be the same that appears in Cuvelier's negative number 30, which shows a farm building also covered in grape vines. The print that Gauss lists for negative 30 is inscribed and dated 'Barbizon - 10 8bre 1863.'
