Ernest Hidderly Fairhurst. (Argentinean, 1911-1989)
Nude study, pastels, mid 20th century, signed lower right, framed and glazed (80cm x 59cm)
Born in Argentina, he trained at the Academia De Bellas Artesin Buenos Aires and worked in the studio of Jorge Larco. In 1936 he came to England and furthered his studies. He then worked as an illustrator for Vogue before returning to Argentina in 1939. Over the next 25 years he worked in Buenos Aires and New York, finally returning to England in 1965.
