Condition Report

With general wear present, including several minor areas of craquelure throughout the composition, for example, in the figure's feet (where there is an small chip of paint missing), in her arms and torso, along the tree branch and along the bottom horizontal edge of the canvas (there is a minor chip of paint missing in this area as well). With frame rubbing evident along all four edges, and with some associated paint loss variously in these areas as well. These are generally unobtrusive. There is additional paint loss present in an 1/8th inch circular area at the top horizontal edge towards the right, and another smaller circular fleck missing just below this at top center. These are unobtrusive. The paint appears particuraly worn along the bottom half of the right vertical edge where it has a slightly mottled appearance, possibly minute, pinprick areas of loss. Below this at the bottom right corner, in a 3 x 3 inch area, there are small clusters of paint loss present intermittently. With a 1/2 inch horizontal slight tear at the top of the left vertical edge, and a faint indentation from the stretcher bar verso.

There are several areas of apparent in painting that fluoresce under black light, for example, to the left of the figure's head in a 5 inch area, in the figure's nose area, intermittently in her skirt and variously throughout the background.

There is a slight 1/2 inch horizontal crack at the left vertical edges towards the top.

Payment Information

An invoice representing the total due of hammer + buyer's premium + sales tax (if applicable) will be issued and is due within 10 days of the sale. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, checks payable in US dollars, and bank transfers. Freeman's does not accept credit cards. Lots purchased will not be released until funds have cleared the bank.

Shipping Information

Buyer's Premium

A buyer's premium will be added to your successful bid at the rate of 25% on the first 200,000, 20% between 200,001 and 3,000,000, and 12% thereafter. Be sure to factor in the buyer's premium when determining your maximum bid. Invaluable/eBay charges an additional 5% fee that will be added to your buyer's premium.

Taxes on your purchase

Unless exempted by law, from the payment thereof, the purchaser will be required to pay any and all applicable state and/or local sales taxes. Deliveries to be made outside the state where a sale is conducted may therefore be subject to a corresponding or compensating tax in another state.
