Original illustrated wrappers. Provenance: Russian bookseller (some small stamps). FIRST EDITIONS. Includes: Dve Sobaki, Kukushka i Petukh, Vorona i Lisitsa, and others. [With:] -- 3 related others, later editions. [And:] -- 8 others works illustrated by Ermolaeva, mostly first editions, published c.1928-1931, in original wrappers and mostly in good condition, including: Shvarts' Poezd, Zhitkov's Devchonki, Miller's Vostok v ogne, Aseev's Krasnosheika, Zabolotskii's Khoroshie Sapogi, Vvedenskii's Mnogo Zverei and his Rybaki and Podvig Pionera Mochina. Ermolaeva was one of the key figures in the St. Petersburg art world, and in children's book publishing. From 1919 to 1923 she directed the celebrated Vitebsk Institute, to which she recruited her friend Malevich. (19)
