Enrique Alferez (1901-1999, Louisiana), "Mother and Child," 1959, terracotta figure, pen signed and dated verso, and placed "New Orleans," H.- 29 1/2 in., W.- 16 in., D.- 7 1/2 in.

Condition Report

Condition consistent with age and use. A repair to the neck is noted, with an approximately 1/4 inch shallow chip observed along the back of the neck. An approximately 2 inch shallow area of loss is seen along the front middle of the bottom edge, with a similar area of loss noted along the left side, to the edges of the figure's foot. Scattered areas of darker finish are seen throughout. Consistent crackling to finish is observed throughout. Moderate dust debris is noted. A splendid piece.
