Frame rubbing. Lined. Light surface dirt. Scattered cracquelrue. Two 1/2'''' circular patches on the reverse; there is also a 2'''' patch on the upper center edge. 3'''' area of inpainting above the boy''s head, 1'''' area to the left of signature (and in the E) and a 1 1/2'''' spot immediately to the right of signature. Few minute areas of inpainting along left edge; possibly strengthening in barrel at lower right and in the rod the boys holds.
