Condition Note: In good condition. Under UV: An area of inpainting to the back of the woman's hair, her foot outlined by inpainting; filled-in craquelure to the right of the female and above the man's shoulder. An upper right portion of the trees shows inpainting as does an area at lower right throughout the stream, and to the central tree's trunk. A ½ inch wide section of inpainting at edge of canvas, particularly at the upper left edge and to lower right edge covers frame abrasion. A few other very small inpainted strokes throughout, with a fairly heavy varnish which fluoresces elsewhere.

We are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described in our catalogue. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective, qualified opinion.
