Condition Report

The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This painting has been recently restored. The canvas is unlined, but the reverse has been treated with a non-wax adhesive and there are numerous reinforcements addressing structural damage. There is a reinforcement in the upper center, beneath the girl's chin, and others address a fairly complex break in the left hand and sleeve. Other reinforcements address a loss in the right elbow. Further reinforcements address damages to the bunch of flowers in the lower left and a long horizontal break running from the fingers of the right hand through to the cabinet on the left side. There are two other more visible patches on the reverse, in the lower half of the painting. Under ultraviolet light, retouches are not clearly visible, but each reinforcement corresponds to a tear or hole which has received retouches. Nonetheless, the stretcher is original. The paint layer is unabraded and the restoration is good. The work should be hung as is.

The Bill of Lading must include: the purchaser's full name, the full delivery address including the street name and number, city and state or city and country, the sale and lot number.

Sotheby's will contact your shipper within 24 hours of receipt of the Bill of Lading to confirm the date and time that your property can be collected. Property will not be released with out this confirmation and your shipper must bring the same Bill of Lading that was faxed to Sotheby's when collecting. All property releases are subject to the receipt of cleared funds.
