Eli Cantor (New York/Florida, 1913-1995), "Masked Ball", oil on canvas affixed to board, signed lower left, handwritten note inscribed "Egypt, Lebdusha" en verso, 24 1/8 in. x 15 1/4 in., in an antique frame.
PLEASE NOTE: A writer, painter, arts activist, musician and poet, Eli Cantor worked as a businessman in New York City. Cantor wrote for Esquire Magazine as well as for television and the theater. He was a member of the of Yaddo Art Colony in Saratoga Springs, New York, and retired in 1981 to Sarasota, Florida, where he created paintings, music and poetry.
