LAZAR' MARKOVICH ['EL'] LISSITSKY (RUSSIAN 1890-1941), "Proun," ca 1922-23, gouache on paper, 28.7 x 22.9 cm (11 1/4 x 9 1/8 in.), signed lower right in Latin letters, collector stamp of Darius Tale Yar Kahn on the verso. PROVENANCE: Collection of Darius Tale Yar Khan, London. This lot is being sold with a certificate from Nadia Filatoff, and will be reproduced in her forthcoming catalogue raisonné on the artist. Nadia Filatoff writes in her expertise that "this proun might have been created for a series to be exhibited during the 20's, and for a portfolio to be published in Hannover or Berlin. It is similar to Proun 5A, 1919."
