Notes

A lovely album that offers a personal glimpse into this professional photographer's methodology. Eickemeyer, a member of the Linked Ring and Camera Club of New York, received 10 Gold, Silver and Special Medals at various international exhibitions. According to a label on the front pastedown, the Smithsonian Institution acquired the complete collection of Eickemeyer's work in June 1929. Apparently the following year, on a snowy winter's day, the photographer and his wife left their hometown of Yonkers for a lengthy motor trip, where they stopped in Washington, drove to New Orleans, and spent time exploring the southwest and California.
