Large pottery rooster by Edwin Meaders of White County, Ga. Signed. Top of tail missing, glazed over in firing.Measures 15". Weight 5 pds 10 oz. Edwin is the youngest son of Arie and Cheever Meaders. About 1980 he returned to pottery making full time. Influenced by his mother's roosters, Edwin evolved his own style of rooster. Edwin’s roosters are a required addition to any Southern folk pottery collection. PROVENANCE: A Private Charleston SC Estate
