Description

EDWARD TAYLOR SNOW (American, 1844-1913) "A SUMMER DAY, NEW JERSEY". Large mixed media summer landscape shows four sheep lying next to water under three large trees at the edge of a pasture with trees in background under light blue sky. Signed lower right "E. Taylor Snow". Housed in a fine gesso decorated modern gilt frame with linen matte and small gold liner. Frame having a brass plaque with title and artist name. Attached to the back are the original exhibition labels which were removed from the original frame as follows: Art Club of Philadelphia, 1906 Ninth Annual Exhibition; Louisiana Purchase Exposition, 1904; and two others. SIZE: Sight: 21-1/2" X 34-1/2". PROVENANCE: From a private Long Island, New York Mansion. CONDITION: Very good. 9-73995 (1,000-2,000)
