Notes

Edward Martindale Richardson was the second son of Thomas Miles Richardson, Sen. (1784-1848). He worked in a similar manner to his brother, Thomas Miles Richardson, Jun., R.W.S. (1813-1890). Like his sibling, he travelled throughout Britain and on the Continent. He exhibited in London from 1846 and was elected an Associate of the New Society of Painters in Water-Colours in 1859.
