Description

EDWARD MACDOWELL(1861-1908) American pianist and composer, the first from American composer to be internationally acclaimed, remembered for his piano compositions and concertos. Very fine A.M.Q.S on a small sheet of letterhead from Columbia University, 1p. 8vo., [New York], June 22, 1902, one measure of music, boldly penned. The quote is tipped to the first free end paper of his hardbound volume Critical and Historical Essays, New York: Arthur P. Schmidt, 1912. Easily removed if desired, very good condition. Book bears wear to spine, light toning within, very good.
