AUTOGRAPH MANUSCRIPT OF THE SONG "PHIDYLÉ" ("L'HERBE EST MOLLE AU SOMMEIL"), FOR VOICE AND PIANO,

Notated in blue/black ink on four systems per page, each of three staves, some additions in pencil, a working manuscript in places, with corrections and additions, the Stichvorlage, marked by and for the printer, with casting-off marks, with note by the composer: "La disposition reste identique, sauf pour les 2 dernières lignes", stamped "Gravé A. Gulon", plate number in blue crayon

8 pages, large folio, 36x27cms, no place or date, staining consistent with use by the printer

NOTE

This setting of a poem by Leconte de Lisle is one of Duparc's most magical songs. It was composed in 1882 and later orchestrated.
