Description

Alfred Sachs (1907 - 1990) - a bronze bust of Harald Quandt 1935 Bronze bust of the young Harald Quandt reverse monogramm "AS" für Alfred Sachs dated 1935 caster's signature on the plinth "T. Noack Leipzig - Bronce". On a later marble base with gold inscription "Harald Quandt - 1921 - 1967 - Liebe vor Deutschland" (tr. "Love for Germany") mounted height of the bronze 36 cm height with base 67 cm. Harald Quandt son of the major industrialist Günther Quandt and his wife Magda (later Goebbels). Thus he was the stepson of Joseph Goebbels who presumably commissioned this bust. The sculptor Alfred Sachs (1907 - 1990) studied in Karlsruhe and Dresden and worked in the mid-1930s in the studio of well-known architect and sculptor Arno Breker.
