Born in 1945 - The paintings of Artist Douglas Hofman have been critically acclaimed for their glowing surfaces, sumptuous details and softly lighted forms. Douglas Hofman expertly combines his own methods of painting with the techniques of the old masters which Douglas learned from Joseph Sheppard at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where he received his bachelor of fine arts degree. The beautiful aura of light and atmosphere found in great Baroque paintings pervades the works of Hofman Douglas Hofman gives meticulous attention to detail, and creates harmonious compositions with superbly balanced colours and shapes. He was born in Baltimore Maryland in 1945. Douglas's work have been exhibited in numerous group and one-man shows at prestigious galleries and museums in every major city in USA and Japan. Douglass Hoffman's lithographs have introduced Douglas' work to a wide range of collectors. Beautifully produced they are the epitome of fine art publishing, utilising traditional methods to create original print of the highest standard. The rarity of Douglas' original paintings has meant that the only access to his work has been through such lithographs. He was formerly published by Circle Gallery.

Withdrawal
The Auctioneer has the right to withdraw any item property at any time before actual sale.

Bidding
Unless otherwise announced by the Auctioneer at the time of sale, all bids are per lot as numbered in the catalog. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject a bid from any bidder. The highest bid acknowledged by the Auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the Auctioneer shall have the sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder, or to re-offer and re-sell the article in dispute. If the Auctioneer determines that any opening bid is not commensurate with the value of the article offered, he may reject the bid; and if, having acknowledged an opening bid he decides that any advance is not sufficient, he may reject the advance.

New York residents the New York State Sales Tax 8.875% which is computed on the total purchase price. The purchaser will be required to pay the Sales Tax. Unless exempted through possession of a valid New York Sales Tax Number.
