22 1/4 x 17 3/4 inches 56.5 x 45.1 centimeters on verso signed and editioned 4/6 Provenance:Presentation House Gallery fundraising sale, North Vancouver, 2006 Private Collection, Vancouver Douglas Curran's long involvement in the life of the Chewa people in Malawi resulted in the exhibition and book, The Elephant Has Four Hearts: Nyau Masks and Ritual, from which this image is taken. This is one of three images offered in a portfolio created in 2006. These images are rare documents of the history and identity of the endangered Chewa culture.
