For Richard Royston and Richard Marriot, 1640, folio, first edition, later state (as in most copies) of engraved title-page, device on title, woodcut head- and tailpieces and initials, late eighteenth-/early nineteenth-century half calf, marbled boards, morocco lettering-piece, without preliminary and final blanks, engraved title mounted, with substantial fragment torn away from outer margin within border (but not affecting portrait or text), outer margins of title and following two leaves crudely restored, first few gatherings heavily dampstained at head, very occasional spotting, three leaves of table at end extended, last few leaves somewhat browned and frayed, extremities rubbed, covers slightly worn; Fifty Sermons...The Second Volume. Ja. Flesher for M.F.J. Marriot and R. Royston, 1649, folio, first edition, device on title, woodcut head- and tailpieces and initials, a few contemporary marginal annotations and underlinings in ink, contemporary calf, title-page somewhat dust-stained with a few contemporary scribblings, outer corners of four leaves damp-stained, light browning to some gatherings, a few inkstains, some wear to covers, corners repaired, rebacked, upper cover detached, lacking clasps (2)
