8vo, fourth edition, second issue, frontispiece portrait of Donne aged 18 by William Marshall, nineteenth-century vellum, without preliminary blank, author's name on title completed in ink in an early hand, frontispiece and title dust-stained and slightly frayed at edges, contemporary scribblings on blank recto of frontispiece, some spotting and browning throughout, especially to margins, some headlines and page-numerals shaved, light damp-stain to lower outer corners of two gatherings
