Oil on Canvas "Le Caleche, Place Des Pyramides by Dominick Tortes (Neapolitan, 1938-2012). The view from the square features the statue of Joan of Arc facing the northwest corner of the Musee du Louvre during the Belle Epoque Era. In ornate gilt wood frame. Measures in frame 32"x28"x3". Weight 14 pds. Purchased in Paris. PROVENANCE: A Private Paris / Charleston Estate. Dominique Tortes devoted his career to paining the great boulevards of Paris as they appeared in the Belle Epoque Era, a style that endeared him to collectors both in Paris and world wide.
