Notes

The Rose, 169 tons, was built at Sunderland in 1857, owned by Beckwith and counted Colchester as her home port. Trading regularly to the Mediterranean ports for a number of years, she disappears from record in the early 1860s, possibly wrecked but more likely sold and renamed.
