Dollie Nabinger was a student of James McCan for seven years while she lived in Victoria, Texas. She then attended the Art Students League, New York, for two years. Her art technique was further developed after study in San Antonio with Jose Arpa and Harry Anthony De Young. In 1955, she studied for a summer at the Academie Julian in Paris.

Nabinger lived for about a decade in the Nacogdoches area. The prevalence of Spanish moss in the oak tree raises the likelihood this is an East Texas bluebonnet landscape, rather than a Hill Country scene.

Excellent condition. Period frame in excellent condition.
