Notes

Comparison with drawings of Loenersloot and of nearby Abcoude by Roelant Roghman demonstrate beyond doubt that the building depicted in these two drawings is, despite the old inscriptions on the mounts, Loenersloot.υ1 Drs. Robert-Jan te Rijdt noted when the drawings were sold in 1994 that a second version, with different staffage, of the watercolour with the masted canal boat to the left is in the Koninklijk Huisarchief, The Hague.υ2
