Dionijs Verburgh (c. 1655 - prior to 1722 Rotterdam) Vast river landscape with travellers resting near a well, oil on panel, 47.5 x 41.5 cm, original gilded Empire frame, (Wo) Dionijs Verburgh was a practitioner of the renowned Rotterdam school of painters; he his predominantly famous for his river landscapes populated by figures, which are perfectly exemplified by the two present compositions.
