Note:
Dennis Burton is part of the so-called second generation of Toronto abstract artists. Nasgaard writes: "The second generation of Toronto artists... although only five to ten years younger than Painters Eleven, entered a different world, one in which the battles for the acceptance of contemporary art in Toronto had largely been won."

This second generation included artists such as Richard Gorman, John Meredith and Robert Markle, Graham Coughtry, Joyce Wieland and Michael Snow.
