David Blackburn (1939-), "Cliff Collage", signed and dated 1977, titled on artist's label verso, pastel and collage, 37 x 38cm.; 14.5 x 15in. * Blackburn studied at Huddersfield School of Art 1955-59, then the Royal College of Art 1959-62. He had a retrospective at Mappin Art Gallery, Sheffield, 1970, others at University of York, 1978 and Huddersfield Art Gallery 1979 and 1994. Showed at Hart Gallery, Nottingham from 1989. Yale Center, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, several Australian galleries and Ashmolean Museum, Oxford hold his work.
