Notes

He was born in Bordeaux and became a student of the Baron of Wappers at Anvers. He figured at the Salon de Paris from 1842 until 1880. His studies under Wappers shone through in his work which were heavily influenced by 17th Century painting and especially by the works of Rubens. Works can be found in the museum of Castres and d'Aurillac.
