Description

Craven, Edgar Malin New Jersey (1891-1960) COUNTRY HOME oil on board, framed signed: lower right H16" W20" *Artist biography: Craven had a successful career as a banker, retiring from the Greenwich Savings Bank in 1943 at the age of 52. It was then that he could pursue his real dream - painting. He studied at the Grand Central School of Art in New York City and almost immediately began to win prizes for his art - Morris County Art Association 1944, 1948, and 1954 and at Spring Lake, NJ, in 1947 and 1951. He was elected to the Salmagundi Club as well as the Palm Beach Florida Art League. He was listed in Who's Who in American Art in 56, 57, 58, and 59. He died in New Jersey in 1960.
