Count Albert de Belleroche (1864-1944), 'Still Life Roses', circa 18090-1900, oil on canvas, monogrammed lower right, 20 x 24", in a gesso and giltwood frame. A Contemporary of Toulouse-Lautrec, Belleroche, studied under Carolus-Duran in Paris, and shared a studio with John Singer Sargent in both Paris and London. The influence of both these masters is to be found in the fluidity and grace of this work.
