COLUM ROBERT GORE-BOOTH (1913-1959), "MINING VILLAGE, YORKSHIRE", monogrammed lower left, inscribed verso, oil on canvas, in a gilt-composition frame. 62cm by 75cm
Note: Gore-Booth was a member of a well-known Anglo-Irish family based at Lisadell House, Co. Sligo. He was born in the North of England and spent much time at his mother's ancestral home, Sandhall Hall in East Yorkshire. His first one-man show was in Paris in 1939 and he exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1940.
