A uniformly bound set of Dickens' works, all London: Chapman and Hall or Bradbury and Evans as issued except where notes. First Edition in book form except where noted. 25 vols. total, comprising the following:

The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club.
1837. -- Nicholas Nickleby. 1839. Later edition. - - Master Humphrey's Clock. 1840-41. 3 vols. bound in 2. -- American Notes. 1842. 2 vols. Second edition. -- Martin Chuzzlewit. 1844. -- Five of the six Christmas Books: The Chimes. 1845. -- The Cricket on the Hearth. 1846 [i.e. December, 1845]. -- The Battle of Life. Various sizes, all green morocco over cloth gilt-stamped, gilt-stamped spines and title in gilt to leather spine labels. Four of the five Christmas books (all but Picture of Italy) finely bound in full green morocco stamped in geometric block design with titles stamped in gilt to front boards, royal purple and green leather gilt-stamped dentelles, original cloth and spine tipped to endpapers. Conditions vary; most lacking half-titles and advertisements; foxing to most volumes; boards sturdy to all vols.; full condition report available upon request.

Spine ends are in good condition with chipping to the head only on the two volumes of Barnaby Rudge; all volumes with some rubbing and edgewear and fading to the spines; 4 vols. of Christmas Books, which are distinguished by fine binding, have offsetting to the endpapers from the leather inner dentelles; otherwise hinges are tight and bindings are in good condition.
