Notes

Provenance - From E. Stacy-Marks, Eastbourne. Both paintings are sold with certificates.

The Bouvard family became famous for painting romantic images of Venice. Antoine lived from 1870 to 1955 and began his career as an architect before becoming a full time artist. His son Noel lived from 1912 to 1975. Colette was probably tutored by both of them. Their family home was in Paris and they travelled to Venice for inspiration.
