Other Notes: Clarence Van Duzer, known to his friends as "Van", was a lifelong artist. While building a significant career in both painting and sculpture, Van Duzer also established himself as a dedicated and highly respected teacher, primarily as a Professor at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Here he met his close friends and eventual artistic inspirations, Julian Stanczak and Richard Anuszkiewicz. He received his Bachelor's from Case Western Reserve University in 1945 and his MFA from Yale University School of Fine Art in 1947. He also received a certificate of graduation from Cleveland Institute of Art after studying painting at Cranbrook Academy of Art under Zoltan Sepeshy. His works can be found in many world renowned museums including the Detroit Institute of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Butler Institute of American Art and the Dallas Museum of Art.
