Lot 68: Circle of Georg Flegel (Olmtz 1566-1638 Frankfurt)

Grapes in a pewter bowl, a roemer of white wine, hazelnuts and slices of butter in porcelain dishes, chestnuts, a sliced lemon and a knife on pewter platters, with a bread roll on a wooden ledge oil on panel, stamped on the reverse with the maker's mark 151/4 x 19 1/8 in. (38.7 x 48.6 cm.) NOTES This relates closely to a signed still life by Flegel in the Deutsches Brotmuseum, Ulm (see K. Wettengl, Georg Flegel, Stuttgart, 1995, pp. 108-9, no. 23, illustrated).
