Lubienietzki, a Pole, was a pupil of Julien Stur in Hamburg, before moving to Amsterdam, where he is recorded as working in the studio of Gérard de Lairesse in 1675. Unlike his brother, Theodor Lubienietzki, court painter to the Duke of Tuscany and director of the Berlin gallery of the Elector of Brandenburg, who returned to Poland, Christoph settled in Amsterdam, marrying there in 1693. He worked mainly as a portrait painter, and three portraits by him, including a possible self-portrait, are in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
