Description

Ink on paper, unmounted; the first depicting a seagull winging past a rocky shoreline, signed Chiura Obata; the second of a rabbit leaping through the air above a stylized wave, signed Chiura hitsu; the third an unsigned sketch of a fishmerman standing at the ocean's edge, dwarfed by the rocky shoreline beyond.

Ms. Fuller, a close friend of Obata's, acquired the paintings directly from him during the early 1930's.
