Each, oil on panel (Mrs. Hallett's panel is slightly bowed) SURFACE (of each): in good condition, generally; a few minor spots of dirt (probably house paint); abrasions along edges from frame; paint surfaces are slightly abraded (probably from previous restoration); a retouch under Mr. Hallett's left eye. The works are in matching frames, probably period, but not necessarily original. UNDER UV: Mr. Hallett: Spots of inpainting scattered, a line of strengthening at the mouth, and inpainting along edges to address frame abrasion. Mrs. Hallet: a few scattered dots of inpainting and a even varnish which fluoresces green.
