CHARSLEY, Fanny Anne (1828-1915). The Wild Flowers Around Melbourne. London: Day & Son., 1st November 1867. 2° (370 x 270 mm). Lithographic title and 13 hand-colored lithographic plates by Fanny Charsley. (A few leaves dampstained, plate one with marginal repair, some scant spotting or staining.) Modern half morocco. FIRST EDITION. Each plate is accompanied by one leaf of scientific description by Ferdinand von Mueller, the dedicatee of the work. Charsley's family moved to Melbourne when she was 29 she collected, drew, and painted flowers she found growing around the city. After 10 years in Melbourne, she returned to London where she had her drawings lithographed for this lavish publication. Ferguson 8106a; Nissen BBI 347.
