Description

Charles William MacCord (Pennsylvania/Massachusetts, 1852-1923), Along the River, oil on canvas mounted to board, signed lower right "Charles Wm. MacCord 1905," measures 12x16 inches, overall 18.75x22.5 inches framed. CONDITION: Good, some light crackelure in the lower section with a few spots of inpainting. Born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Charles William MacCord was a businessman, poet, painter, and engraver. Both he and his sister, Mary Nicholena MacCord, were active Impressionist painters in the Connecticut and Massachusetts area.
