Bataviaasch Album. Verzameling van een Tiental Gezigten van de Hoofdstad van Nederlandsch Indië. Batavia: Kolff & Co., [1860].

Oblong 4° (340 x 417mm). 10 hand-coloured tinted lithographic plates from drawings by Deeleman, lithographed by J.G. Bos and printed in Leiden by Trap. Captions and titles within a decorative engraved border and printed in French and Dutch. Plate 10 mounted, with decorative border printed in brown. Publisher's printed blue boards, titled and decorated on upper cover (spine renewed, covers rubbed, corners worn).
RARE AND IMPORTANT VIEWS OF BATAVIA in original condition with contemporary hand-colouring; the "only series of frameable prints depicting the capital of Netherlands India" (Bastin & Brommer). Dedicated to the Minister of the Colonies, J.J. Rochussen by Deeleman, who lived nearly forty years in Indonesia. Bastin & Brommer pp. 26, 38-39, note 602.
