The Memorial, which was a hugely important collaboration between Jagger and the architect Lionel Pearson was unveiled on 18 October 1925, after Jagger had been working on it for four years: it has become recognised as Jagger's masterpiece.

The world auction record for the Jagger's work at auction is held by Christie's, London for Maquette for The Driver, Royal Artillery Memorial, 1921-1925, sold at Christie's, London, 9 June 2006 for £422,400.
