CHARLES-LÉOPOLD GREVENBROECK MILAN, ?-NAPLES 1758 VIEW OF PARIS WITH THE SAINTE-CHAPELLE oil on copper, unframed 10 by 14 1/8 in.; 25.4 by 35.9 cm.

Grevenbroeck specialized in small scale views of Paris, along with idyllic depictions of the Châteaus which dotted the outskirts of the city. A beautiful set of such works are in the collection of the Musée Carnavalet, Paris (inv. nos. P.129-30; P.1041-4; P. 1496-7; P.2123), many of which were exhibited in the Salons of 1738 and 1741 (see J. Marie Bruson and C. Leribault, Peintures du Musée Carnavalet : catalogue sommaire, Paris 1999, pp. 219-221).
